My name is Zach and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Altitude Wellness Counseling. I received my masters in social work from Colorado State University. After receiving my degree I went to Texas and worked with teens and families at a residential counseling center. It was there I learned and began implementing the backbone of my practice. I realized that a relationship is the catalyst that brings about change. Nobody cares what you know until they know you care. With 11 years of experience I found that problematic behavior is simply the external representation of an internal problem. With all this being said, I don’t treat a person’s diagnosis; I work to help the person learn to be bigger than their struggles so they can succeed in life. A unique aspect of my practice is that I like to meet those I work with where they are. I don’t use an office (unless this is desired) allowing me the freedom to meet wherever you feel comfortable. I look forward to meeting you and helping you overcome whatever situation may be holding you back from being the best version of yourself.

Amidst these challenges, many also face the complexities of managing anxiety, coping with depression, adjusting to the realities of ‘adulting,’ resolving roommate issues, and confronting substance use concerns. I provide a compassionate and supportive environment, offering practical guidance to help young adults navigate these multifaceted changes. I am a seasoned psychotherapist with over 20 years experience. I help people to rapidly get to the core issues which keep them stuck in their lives, be it difficulties in their relationships or chronic depression/anger/anxiety, to name a few. The avoidance of painful thoughts/feelings, either from past or recent events is what creates suffering. When we avoid these painful experiences, we develop symptoms or problems. The treatment approaches I use are evidence-based, meaning they've been researched, tested, and proven to work. My work integrates somatic experiencing, attachment and psychodynamic theory, and CBT. I take Aetna insurance, but not Aetna EAP.
Pamela French Newman (she/her/hers), graduated in May 2022 with a Masters Degree from Naropa University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Somatic Counseling Program with a concentration in Body Psychotherapy. Pamela’s approach to counseling is strength-based, humanistic, relational, and mind/body-centered. She focuses on working with the nervous system as a way to work towards emotional regulation. Before coming to Naropa she spent five years teaching yin, restorative, and trauma informed yoga in the Boston area. Through her own personal practice as well as teaching yoga, her curiosity around the healing powers of the mind-body connection grew. Her first hand awareness of the mind-body connection as a therapeutic tool led her to find Somatic Counseling which is a form of psychotherapy that values this connection.

When life feels like too much to hold on your own, there is overwhelm, anxiety, uncertainty, or you could just use some extra support, therapy can be a beautiful choice. Therapy is many things; understanding old, habitual patterns, processing painful or confusing emotions, cultivating resources, reclaiming pleasure, and developing a trusted relationship with another person to process the most vulnerable parts. If talk therapy has already been tried and feels stale, then art and creativity, somatics, nervous system awareness, and nature connection can offer a profound alternative in your therapeutic journey. This is where I come in. I weave together art and creativity, somatics, nature-connection, and mindfulness. As well as reflection, contemplation, and talking to integrate. I work well with themes of identity, times of transition, expansion, self-compassion, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, decision making, burn-out, relationship dynamics, addiction, trauma, and parts work.

Deep TMS, neurofeedback, stellate ganglion block, and a mental health IOP in Boulder, Colorado
Individuals struggling with suicidal ideation can come to The Hope Institute for treatment, to increase hope, and obtain the ability to safely wait for ongoing outpatient care, when needed. Our approach is unique, as it is based in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), two of the most effective, evidence-based models currently available for treating suicidality. With the use of CAMS and DBT, the clinician and client will work together to solve problems. CAMS is an evidenced-based therapeutic framework for suicide-specific assessment and treatment of a patient’s suicidal risk. Each session of CAMS intentionally utilizes the patient’s input about what is and is not working. All assessment work in CAMS is collaborative; we seek to have the patient be a “co-author” of their own treatment plan (CAMS-care, 2024). DBT is a type of talk therapy that gives clients skills in regulating their emotions, tolerating distress, maintaining healthy relationships, practicing mindfulness and thinking from perspectives other than their own. THI is home to multiple clinicians who are certified and trained in CAMS and DBT. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based behavior focused treatment intended to help clients build a life worth living while reducing suicidal and self-harming behaviors. Parent and teen groups are available. DBT groups provide clients with five core skills to manage intense emotions and enhance day-to-day life: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and dialects.
Clients who I work best with want to know something about themselves. They may be suffering with any number of symptoms, but also have a curiosity. Maybe there is a sense of something still to be discovered. Through my work with Inner World Building, a hands on, active, somatic therapy, the unknown can be known, felt and expressed in a way that words can't. Not sure if this approach is for you? Feel free to try a demo session and decide for yourself if the method will be useful. The base of this therapy is making, building in the sand and with the figures; not talk therapy. But talking and integrating one's experience is an additive important part of the process.
I am a compassionate therapist who values my relationship with clients and who works hard to effectively provide education, feedback, and a variety of strategies to address presenting issues. I work with my clients to enhance their self-awareness, understand sources of stress, discover their inner strengths and resilience, and improve their effectiveness. Therapeutic Approach: I believe in empowering people to work through life's challenging experiences. I am dedicated to working with my clients to identify the source of distress or difficulty and develop strategies to improve their lives. My ideal client is an adult, young or old, who is navigating the challenges of life, starting a family, parenting, family or peer relationships, or personal performance issues. My extensive experience working with adults and adolescents on issues related to mood and behavior, and current and past trauma, has informed many of my treatment approaches. Additionally, I have experience providing fertility support, treating postpartum depression/anxiety, and enjoy my work with teens and young adults navigating their developmental challenges, and athletes on performance enhancement and improvement. I have the E. Passport from PSYPACT, which grants me the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) in 41 US States. Programs Offered: Currently I provide initial, extensive consultations, ongoing trauma-focused therapy, Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), psychedelic preparation and harm reduction support, and individual and group psychedelic integration support. ***Join us on a 4-6 week Journey of KAP this summer!
