You are seeking therapy because you know it’s time for a change. Your anxiety or trauma have affected how you see and interact with the world, and feeling more at peace seems like a hard-to-reach place. Oftentimes, we’re our own worst critics. You may be telling yourself that you can’t meet your work or academic goals, address challenging relationship issues, or develop the self-esteem and creativity you need to succeed on your path in life. Your perspective of the world may have been shaped by childhood experiences you had little to no control over. Maybe you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and have lost the support of your family or loved ones due to issues related to your identity. Or perhaps you no longer know who you are anymore, don’t like who you are, or don’t know how to relate to other people. You’re here now because you’ve made the decision to become more aware of the negative self-talk that has been affecting daily functioning and ready to learn what to do with it when it comes around. In confronting your fears, and looking within yourself, you learn to understand how to make sense of the world, how to better cope with strategies and tools that are actually useful and your focus begins to shift to things that you can actually control. Seeking change is no small feat and takes incredible courage! Luckily, you don’t have to walk this path alone. Creating a safe space where you get to challenge those beliefs, invest in your well-being, and improve your overall life satisfaction is my highest priority.

I am a therapist-in-training providing sliding scale therapy under the supervision of Jessenia until May 2026. I am a first-generation Latina- I speak Spanish and English fluently. I have experience in a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic with young adults, elders, and adolescents. I am a firm believer that our identities are essential in understanding our life experiences and should be considered in a therapeutic relationship. I also consider the importance of intergenerational trauma- understanding we are carriers of past generational trauma. Along with societal barriers that directly affect our life experiences. Who we are now is influenced by our identities, life experience, and generational trauma. My approach includes the importance of identities and focuses on creating a safe, non-judgmental space. I guide with curiosity and empathy to welcome your feelings, thoughts, and life experiences. In our therapeutic relationship, I focus on understanding the interconnectedness of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also explore past life experiences and recognize its influence in personality, behavior, and/or interpersonal relationships. Together, we will explore, process, and heal to overcome internal barriers.

PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES: Rebecca’s clinical focus is on helping adult female identified dancers develop healthy relationships with their bodies and food. She guides clients in reconnecting with their bodies, often using the process of “embodiment,” a multilayered awareness of your body and how you connect to or relate to the world around you. Through the holistic practices of mind- body awareness, Rebecca educates her clients on how their emotions may sometimes be reflected through physical symptoms, often called psychosomatic symptoms. Working with Rebecca, clients also receive guidance on eating in a self attuned way to manage disordered eating behaviors. She works from the Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective and helps clients understand the internal and external factors that contribute to disordered eating, body image issues and problems with self esteem. Dancers are always on display, whether taking recreational classes at the studio or at rehearsal and especially during performances. Outside of the dance world, there’s the everyday societal expectations of how our bodies should be. Rebecca is familiar with the unique challenges dancers face on and off stage.
