I believe everyone is an artist. My therapy works with the creative souls in all of my clients, from dormant creatives to professional artists. Unfortunately, we all experience trauma of some kind during our lives. Traumatic experiences leave scars on our bodies and our minds that can't speak through words. However, we can listen to and understand our unspeakable pain through the creative arts. Art and creativity are the guides that lead us to healing and solace. Talk therapy is a good a way to get to know you, your coping mechanisms, and identify your goals. We go deeper with creative arts such as drawing and writing, as well as working with the body and mindfulness. Most importantly, you will experience the sense of being understood and seen in the mind and heart of a loving, attuned human being. It is my honor to work with you and witness your precious vulnerability. Much of my effort goes to provide a protective environment so we can work at your own pace and comfort level. Finding a therapist requires courage, and asking for help is a sign of strength. Call me for a free consultation and we'll figure it out together.
Share your college struggle with me, and I will provide you with a safe space to grow. Privately and at your pace we will explore who you are inside, carefully unpacking what is at the root of every worry, your sadness, anger, or any other uncomfortable experience during this initial foray into adulthood. We will suss out your internal conflicts by exploring your attempts to master problems of the past by repeating patterns in the present, working your known issues toward resolution. No trauma is too great or too small for us to talk about. Our efforts will impart more freedom and equanimity in your choices, and open you up to feel more passionate and alive. I use an active relational psychoanalytic approach to therapeutically make meaning of psychological and emotional difficulties through an ongoing conversation. You simply talk about what is bothering you and free associate to your life. Collaboratively, we will examine how and why your patterns in living, though intelligent adaptations and defenses that once helped you to survive, may no longer serve you, so that you may accept and care for yourself and have a richer, fuller life. Our alliance will help you find balance in work, love and play, and will develop your agency to manage every life challenge with autonomy and self-confidence. Psychoanalysis offers lasting change, and finding just the right therapist for you is essential to the process. Reach out for a free consultation today to see if we make a good fit.

Perhaps you have been feeling held back by unhelpful thoughts and feelings (worry, doubt, self-criticism) that get in the way or prevent you from living in the present moment. Or maybe you keep engaging in the same patterns of behavior over and over again, rather than moving toward the things you care about most. We partner with our clients to help them find new ways to navigate anxiety, OCD, low mood, and difficult life transitions. Our approach is focused on what is happening in the present while also honoring how your past experiences and identities shape where you are today. We use evidence-based treatments backed by science (including CBT, ACT, Exposure and Response Prevention) to help you reduce suffering and respond more flexibly to life’s many challenges. If you are exhausted by your obsessions, badgered by your inner critic, or trapped in anxious thought loops, you have come to the right place.
