Counseling starts with building connections with therapists who recognize the significance of language and culture. As a therapist, I rely on my knowledge of the Latina/o community to communicate with clients about mental health stigma, develop trust, and discuss resources available. I can provide therapy in English and Spanish for those who wish to conduct sessions fully in Spanish. In my therapy work, I take a nonjudgmental approach and allow you to be you. I specialize in helping clients navigate grief and loss, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, trauma, and major life transitions. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, and older adults, and I adapt my approach to meet you where you are. Whether you’re holding deep sadness, feeling stuck in stress, or looking for new ways to cope, I’ll help you identify what’s working, build new tools, and move forward with more self-trust.
Welcome. If you’re here, I imagine you may be feeling stuck or uncertain about how to move forward in your life. I would like to help you take the next steps. In our work together, we will find ways for you to more meaningfully connect with yourself and with those who are important to you. This work may include facing something from your past, gaining new awareness of repetitive cycles of behavior, navigating a difficult life transition, or the opportunity to freely discover and playfully explore your own subjectivity and imagination. I also work with couples to improve their communication by identifying the ways in which they get stuck trying to resolve conflict, while also finding ways to achieve greater emotional intimacy. My areas of focus include: depression (particularly with men), anxiety, life transitions, identity development, artistic stress, bereavement, trauma, and interpersonal difficulties. My approach is collaborative, active, warm, and transparent. Having worked as an actor previously, I am also particularly aware of the impact of the body on our wellbeing, the nuances of the creative process, and of the various (and often contradictory) roles we play in our relationships. Integrating this perspective in my practice has benefited my work with creatives and non-creatives alike. My practice is primarily psychodynamic; I begin with the assumption that people develop certain patterns of interacting with others in childhood, and that these patterns are repeated throughout life. I use the therapeutic relationship in order to help clarify these conscious and unconscious patterns of relating. If you think we may be a good fit together, please reach out to schedule a free phone consultation. I can be reached at dralexseife@gmail.com
Is life feeling out of control? Are you struggling with significant life changes, relationship issues, grief, immigration and acculturation challenges, or in need of trauma processing? Maybe it’s time to talk with someone. You don’t have to face these challenges alone—I'm here to help and make it easier for you. As a first-generation Chinese American immigrant, I understand many of these struggles on a personal level, and so many of my clients find that connection valuable to open up to me. I am confident that with my experience and personalized approach, I can guide you toward a positive direction in life. My clients often express that they feel heard and safe during our sessions with my naturally warm and empathetic demeanor, but also challenge them at a capacity for growth. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pug, watching dramas, reading books, and staying in quiet places—all of which help me stay grounded and balanced. What do you do to feel grounded? It’s completely normal to feel uncertain about starting therapy, especially if it’s new to you or you don’t know me yet. I encourage you to book a consultation with me. I’d love to address your hesitations and support you on your journey toward a better life. I’m here for you, but I need you to take that first step so we can navigate this path together.

I provide psychotherapy to help my clients navigate through life's challenges and make positive changes. In my practice I work with many students and assist them in facing the stress that school often brings. My approach is to help my clients develop strategies to manage daily challenges while also building their self-awareness. I believe that great growth comes from one's ability to draw connections between their past and how it relates to their current issues. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their goals and have a positive experience along the way.
Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Are you proud of your achievements but still feel there is a disconnect between how you want to live your life and how things are shaping up for you now, almost like you are watching a movie or living someone else’s life? It can be hard to even start a conversation about how to alleviate the way you’re feeling, when you are unsure about how the disconnection occurred and what exactly the disconnect is. I’m here to help you figure that out. I am passionate about empowering clients to figure out their own unique truth, joy, and fulfillment in life. Therapy can be the space for you to do exactly that. Sometimes the anxiety or depression we face is a symptom of a disconnection from our deeper selves, so a large focus of my work with clients is to empower them to find their voice, their truth, and to deepen their sense of congruence. I was drawn to therapy from my prior career having seen firsthand the enormous value therapy can bring us in improving both the quality and enjoyment of our lives. My approach is supportive, curious, and collaborative so that you can explore your experiences in a safe and culturally sensitive environment. Every client’s needs are completely unique, and no one is defined by their symptoms or challenges, so I adapt my approach based on your goals and objectives. I believe that honesty and directness are essential skills for therapists so that our clients can recognize patterns that don’t serve them well. I will share the truth of what I’m seeing with kindness and respect. Sometimes this means exploring uncomfortable experiences or feelings, and I will be your partner as you come to a deeper understanding of these experiences, and free yourself of their hold on you. I invite you to start by imagining what the best outcome could look like for you, and we will go from there.
Aren't you tired of reading these profiles? Searching for that perfect mix of magic and promise that makes you think, "this one might just be worth the risk." And why shouldn't you be picky, right? Therapy IS a risk. You're risking time, money, and most of all; vulnerability. You want some sort of assurance that your risk will pay off. Well, no one can promise you that. Your therapist won't always know the perfect thing to say, and you won't walk out of every session feeling better. You want growth? You want change? That takes the willingness to not just bear, but to actually VALUE the pain involved in learning. Because if I'm doing my job right, then the negative patterns that are holding you back in life will spill out into the room. So if you’re just looking to end your suffering, I can't help you (sadly, no one can). If you want to learn to withstand the torment that life brings upon us. To translate that suffering into growth and change. Then reach out to me.

I work with individuals who are curious to pursue change - whether this be by reflecting on obstacles, with a specific goal in mind, or simply because something feels as if it is not "working" for them. One does not have to be 100% motivated to use therapy well, instead, s/he/they can come to sessions with any sense of willingness to explore.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or drained? Do you feel like no one understands what you have gone through/are going through? Or do you find that you keep your feelings and personal experiences to yourself so you’re not a burden to others? You are not alone. It is not uncommon to feel disconnected and lonely, especially in this day and age. My name is Patricia Sibiga and I am a graduate student at CUNY Hunter studying Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to work together to talk through feelings of dissatisfaction and having a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and heard. Being vulnerable about your feelings and experiences can feel really scary and hard to do, especially if you have experienced being shut down when trying to in the past. Holding onto difficult feelings on your own can start to feel like a weight on your shoulders that continues to get heavier without an end in sight. Starting therapy can help to release that weight and strengthen your resilience to life’s inevitable encounters. My ambition as a therapist-in-training is to create a space where you are able to discuss these feelings and experiences without feeling shut down and unheard. You deserve to have a space in your life to discuss these topics in a non-judgmental, uplifting environment! My practice is rooted in psychodynamic, CBT, and mindfulness based approaches with a sprinkle of somatic therapy. With these theoretical approaches, we can work together to learn how current and past experiences are impacting your day-to-day, to practice grounding and mindfulness, and discover healthy cognitive behaviors and coping skills that may help with psychological distress. Patricia Sibiga is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapist-in-training accruing clinical hours.
Life is full of constant change that we are learning how to navigate every day. Often, adjusting to these changes can bring up a range of emotions including anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has the potential and ability to adapt to these ever-changing challenges in constructive ways that allow them to expand their lives. Our therapeutic relationship would be a source of kindness, calmness, and empowerment in your life. My hope is that therapy can be a safe space for you to share and clarify your values and motivations. By exploring your current habits and patterns, we can bring awareness to what is working well for you and transform the less effective methods into constructive actions that help bring you closer to feeling your best. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel a little intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have or to schedule a free consultation before starting therapy together.
