I believe therapy is a space for growth and change that can lead to stronger relationships, healthier ways of functioning, and a deeper sense of well-being. In our work together, I’ll bring empathy, respect, and genuine care. My role is to support you in becoming more self-aware and confident, while helping you make the changes you want to see in your life. To me, therapy is a collaborative process. I’m not here to "fix" you, but to walk alongside you as a guide, a support, and sometimes just a steady presence while you navigate life’s challenges. I truly believe that everyone has the ability to grow and the responsibility to pursue that growth when they’re ready. I also believe our relationships with family, partners, friends, or chosen community play a huge role in our overall well-being. When those connections feel off or strained, it can affect so many other areas of life. Whether we're working one-on-one, with a couple, or with a family, I take a systemic approach to understand the bigger picture and help shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck. And I know that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find what feels right for you. Most importantly, I’ll offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard. Supervised by: Dr. Candice Ashley, PhD, MED, LPC-S, NCC, PLLC, K–12 School Counselor & Dr. Tara Dekkers, PhD, LMFT-S, ICP Site Location: CRA Professional Counseling Services and Supervision, 5280 Old Reliance Road, Bryan, Texas 77808

I’ve been in the Mental Health field for over 10 years. I have worked in a variety of settings, allowing for a unique perspective towards improving mental health for each individual. While everyone experiences challenges, not everyone struggles in the same way. I strive to meet you where you are in your journey, using a variety of therapeutic approaches to support your unique needs. I am certified as a substance use therapist, certified trauma professional, trained in multiple modalities of therapy- ERP, PE, DBT, HRT, BA, CBT for Hoarding, ACT, and Mindfulness to name the most commonly used therapies for me. I believe in helping you discover your inner resilience through strength-based practices. I also work to increase awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors using mindfulness-based interventions and cognitive behavioral strategies. I honor each individual's autonomy, dignity, and worth, and bring compassion, understanding, and empathy into every session. I have experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, substance use, low self-esteem, trauma of all types, parenting challenges, and life transitions. Hello! I’m a therapist in private practice, and I work best with students and young adults who feel like they’re carrying a lot on the inside while trying to keep up on the outside. Many of the clients who are a great fit for my practice are navigating anxiety, low mood, self-esteem struggles, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss, the impact of past painful experiences, and major life transitions (starting college, changing majors, moving away from home, new relationships). If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like you “should be doing better” but can’t seem to turn it around, you’re not alone. Students often reach out when they’re: • Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly “on edge.” • Stuck in overthinking, perfectionism, or procrastination • Feeling down, numb, unmotivated, or like it’s hard to care about things you used to enjoy • Burned out from juggling school, work, family, or big life changes • Struggling with confidence, self-worth, or a harsh inner critic • Having trouble with relationships, boundaries, or communication • Trying to heal after a painful experience, or coping with grief and loss In our sessions, we’ll slow things down and make sense of what you’re feeling, what’s been happening, and what you want to change. My approach is flexible based on your needs, but I often use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), which helps you notice unhelpful thought patterns, understand how they affect your feelings and choices, and practice new ways of coping that fit your life. We’ll set clear goals, build practical skills you can use between sessions, and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe, especially if you’re working through trauma or loss. My style is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. You don’t need to know what to say or have a “perfect” reason to start therapy. If you’re looking for a space that feels supportive and real, where you can be honest, get tools that help, and feel more like yourself, I’d be glad to connect. We can start with what’s most urgent and go at a pace that feels manageable.

I am Alexandra Patricia (Tricia) Adams, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate (LPC-A), supervised by April West, LPC-S. I am located in Grand Prairie, Texas, between Dallas and Ft. Worth, and can work with clients throughout the entire state of Texas. I obtained my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in English – Technical Writing. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University. I specialize in individual, couples, and group therapy, and practice within several treatment areas. I was born in Dallas and raised in Quitman, located in East Texas. I began my career as a medical assistant and have been an allied health professional for over forty-five years. I spent twenty years of my career as a medical assisting instructor, and another twenty years as the author of Kinn’s: The Administrative Medical Assistant and co-author of Kinn’s: The Medical Assistant. I have authored four editions of both textbooks. This project totaled sixteen texts, including student study workbooks, instructor resource books, test banks, lectures/presentations, and procedure guidelines. I believe that anyone can benefit from the counseling process. It is my hope that my clients will grow through this process and live happier lives. According to the American Psychological Association, mental health therapy can help a person going through a challenging life event or situation, treat mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and address symptoms like sadness, guilt, or anger. The process is also helpful when dealing with relationships with family, friends, and coworkers. I work with adults and adolescents, as well as couples and groups. I have found a niche working with first responders experiencing moral injury, generational trauma and estrangement, adoption, abortion, and miscarriage issues, chronic pain, DNA testing matters, grief, loss, and suicide prevention, intimacy issues, legal/offender issues, overcoming church hurt or past abuse, parental alienation, sexual assault/rape, and low self-esteem and self-confidence. I would be honored to work with you as you begin to live your best life. Counseling can help you as you confront long-standing life issues, or specific concerns that need to be addressed. The length of counseling can range from several weeks to several months, depending on the number of issues that will be discussed. Contact me for a complementary consultation and take the step forward to a richer, more rewarding future.

Dr. Aw's primary interest is the intersection between mental and physical health. Dr. Aw’s philosophy is that one does not exist outside the other. Furthermore, depression and anxiety in patients who are also suffering from medical issues can feel significantly worse, and it is his goal to get patients on a holistic road to recovery. An ideal patient for Dr. Aw understands that it takes a team to get them feeling better, and it is a collaboration between the patients themselves and Dr. Aw.

I am a board certified psychiatrist and provide combined psychotherapy and medication treatment. My patients are typically looking for therapy to address concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. They are also often looking for support with evidence-based medication treatment. I listen carefully to understand the difficulties that bring someone to treatment and to understand their goals. I am collaborative in my approach. I approach psychotherapy from a psychodynamic perspective, where the goal is to increase understanding and insight into thoughts, feelings, and behavior. When we can understand ourselves better, we can then change patterns that may be getting in our way. This type of therapy can often lead to lasting change. Please note that because my practice is telehealth only, I do not prescribe controlled substances (for example, stimulants for ADHD or medications such as Xanax or Ativan for anxiety).

My path started by working in alternative high schools, and then as a career counselor in management and business development roles for a few universities and military populations. I have over 18 years of experience working in education, career development, and mental health. My experience growing up in Flint, Michigan, and being the first in my family to attend college, shaped how I view and overcome challenges. I specialize in support for working professionals, especially teachers, nurses, and students with anxiety or depression who are struggling in their careers, education, or relationships. Many feel stuck, burnt out, angry, and overwhelmed. Chronic stress makes it hard for them to connect with their instructors, bosses, and peers. Time management is an issue and constantly trying to keep up. Some may prefer to be alone, even though it leads to ruminating over traumatic work experiences and substance use. My clients have demanding jobs and/or class schedules, and are highly trained and accustomed to solving problems. However, no one is immune to the long-term effects of stress and trauma. I have over 18 years working in counseling, higher education, and career development. My communication style is warm, yet solution-focused, often encouraging you to think from the end, build your resilience, and focus on the future. Some clients get what they need to make a positive change in 6-8 sessions. Others enjoy my long-term support to address trauma. First time trying talk therapy? Congrats on taking the first step. I value confidentiality and understand the college campus and workplace cultures. You do not have to go through this alone. Let's get you out of survival mode and start to thrive. Reach out to schedule your complimentary 15-minute consultation today. I look forward to talking with you.

About Me / Specialties I am a licensed psychologist specializing in treating adolescents and young adults with OCD, anxiety (including social anxiety, panic, phobias, and generalized anxiety), and related conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder, trichotillomania, tics, and excoriation disorder. Using ERP, CBT, ACT, and DBT strategies, I help students manage symptoms, regulate emotions, and make meaningful, lasting changes—all in a supportive and approachable way.
