Our goal will be to systematically explore the past and present elements affecting your life so we can establish and/or confirm a diagnosis and the appropriate level of care for you. Before our session, you will receive documents for you to fill out. Assessment can be lengthily at times and prefilled documents can ease us into a more enjoyable conversation. I work well with clients who want to learn skills to cope with what they're going through as well as get to the root of the issues. As a therapist I am warm, flexible, and seek to create a brave space in which clients can bring their full selves to the room. While my focus has been trauma and trauma treatments, most of my clients are coming in for help with understanding the role their families have in their lives and changing relationships. Many of my clients are navigating how to be in relationship with parents who have different values and experiences, or maybe don't understand how their actions and choices have impacted my clients. Some topics I work with clients on include: anxiety, stress, perfectionism, over achieving, negative childhood or family experiences, and issues around identity. Some of my clients want to learn concrete skills for managing where they are at in their lives, while others want to get into the depths around who they are and why they do what they do. For both I show up consistently as a sounding board who provides gentle and often direct feedback.
I have over 20 years experience working with young adults navigating life transitions. I have a passion for supporting them through the challenges of adulting. Many of my clients are learning how to balance school, work, friendships, and relationships. This is common and can be more difficult if you have a history of trauma and are trying to learn who you are in this world. I have also worked with many non-traditional students providing support for the challenges of making a mid-life career change. Traditional or non-traditional student, I would love support you in reaching your goals and learning the skills needed to navigate life!
I work with clients who may be struggling with depression or anxiety related to various life stressors, including parenting kids with special needs. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms and sustained improvement long term"

Many people start thinking about therapy because, emotionally, they don’t feel good. Maybe your emotions end up taking you for a ride and you feel helpless to stop it. Emotions come and go, but they can sometimes feel endless, especially if they are intense. Or maybe you are struggling to get in touch with your emotions and you find it difficult to connect. Either way, what ends up making it worse is the power struggle we get into with our own emotions. We want to push away the ones that feel bad and force the ones that feel good, but that never works for long. Wouldn’t it be easier to avoid the power struggle completely?
Hi, I’m glad you’re here. College can be exciting—but also overwhelming. If you're feeling stuck, stressed, or unsure about your next steps, you're not alone. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I’ve spent 25 years working with students as a Dean and Provost. I understand the pressure to succeed, the identity questions, and the quiet burnout that can come with trying to do it all. I work best with students who are thoughtful, motivated, and ready to talk things through—even if they’re not sure where to start. Whether you're navigating a big transition, feeling anxious or lost, or just need a space to breathe and be real, I’m here to help. No judgment. No jargon. Just support that makes sense for where you are right now. Let’s talk—you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
