The idea of starting therapy can stir up many emotions for us. Maybe we're scared of getting vulnerable. Maybe we're struggling to accept that we need help and feel like we've failed. And maybe a little bit of us sparks with hope that something better can happen in our lives; that change is possible. Many people enter therapy feeling disconnected and low on hope, but together we can work to change that. I love helping clients to restore hope and connection with their most authentic selves. Over the last decade I have worked with people coping with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I also bring a specialized focus in working with adoptees and caregivers (especially those who find themselves unexpectedly care giving for a loved one earlier in life than they anticipated). My work is most informed by a background in trauma, attachment, and self compassion. My favorite part of being a therapist is helping people to see themselves with more clarity and kindness. If you think I might be a good fit to work with you, drop me a message and let's chat!

You feel anxious and it’s hard to shut your brain off. People tell you to relax, but it’s not that easy for you. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, but it’s hard to sit back and enjoy it. Your standards for yourself feel too high, and you question how long you can keep this up. You tend to doubt yourself and your abilities and look to other people to reassure you. You want to feel confident, courageous, and like you are able to advocate for yourself. You want to feel happy, calm, and at peace with your life, your relationships, and your career. I specialize in working with young adults with anxiety, people-pleasing tendencies, imposter syndrome, and perfectionism to build self-confidence and live a life they love. A better future is possible, and I'm here to help you create it. I can’t wait to hear from you, send me an email or call me to schedule a free phone consultation.

My therapeutic approach is catered for each client. For those with anxiety disorders, I use evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP) to help my clients learn about the intersections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Much of therapy includes learning and trying out new ways of thinking, utilizing coping skills that emphasize regulating your nervous system, and safely exposing yourself to anxiety-provoking things in order to overcome your fears. For clients who have experienced trauma and interpersonal/relational challenges, I use trauma-focused CBT and psychodynamic therapy with an attachment lens. I aim to support my clients in processing their experiences, reclaiming their narratives, and connecting to their values. I want to help my clients gain insight on root causes of distress, while also helping them explore how to engage in interpersonal relationships in healthier ways. My style is warm and collaborative. In session, I try to balance insight-oriented and skills-based approaches. I am active in teaching and helping clients develop new, healthy coping skills, in order to deal with stress better. I integrate feminist and multicultural approaches, and strive to help explore the impacts of oppression, privilege, and societal expectations, on mental health.
