Claire has experience assisting young-adults as they navigate a range of struggles such as reaching career fulfillment, exploring the dating world, healing from unhealthy relationships or difficult break-ups, codependency, coping with family dynamics, perfectionism, identity development, newfound responsibilities and life transitions. Young-adults benefit from a combination of talk, experiential, and expressive therapeutic techniques that allow for greater exploration and understanding of feelings in a somatic and not solely verbal way. There are many ways to navigate life's landscape. Each person has a unique life process. Claire currently facilitates the adult mental wellness support group, "Building Roots." If you're feeling alone in the relationship you have with your mental health then join us to discover a sense of wholeness within a caring community. In group you'll come to know yourself on a deeper level, increase self-compassion and understanding of others, grow your support network, strengthen communication skills and develop new insight. "Building Roots" has flexibility to host meetings in nature with the group's consent and may be virtual or in-person based on member's needs. Meetings will include elements of meditation, mindfulness-based practices, interpersonal processing, writing exercises, and expressive arts therapy. The process of finding a therapist can bring up feelings of nerves and discomfort. Today you braced that and I applaud you for it. A strong client-therapist relationship promotes progress and allows for a meaningful connection to occur for the both of us. Hi, I am a LMHC and I graduated with my master’s degree from WCSU and I am also a certified personal trainer. I enjoy working with teenagers and adults from the ages 14 and up. I also like working with mothers and daughters whom have a strained relationship or just need some help with building their relationship back up. I specialize with issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem:etc. I always knew I wanted to help other people from a young age. As a kid and teenager I struggled with shyness, self-esteem issues and depression. A lot of the time I felt like I was alone and felt like I was not heard. Since then my goal in life was to help others feel like they are not alone and they are heard no matter the issue. I also believe in treating the whole person. The body and mind are connected, therefore both should be treated. On top of being a therapist, I am also a personal trainer for the last 6 years. I use many different approaches including DBT, CBT, mindfulness techniques, art therapy and psychodynamic. I think every individual is unique, therefore there isn’t just a “one size fits all” approach. I like to speak to each client for a few minutes via phone to make sure that I am the right fit for them. Then I move on to scheduling the first session which consists of me asking questions and getting to know my client and their goals for treatment. I like to take a collaborative approach and allow my client to be the leader in what works and what doesn’t work for them in treatment. I want to help anyone who is willing to put in the work in and out of session. I like to have my clients set small goals in between sessions and review them the following session as a way of assisting in their healing process. I was taught to be kind because you never know what someone else is going through. This value has allowed me to be more empathetic and it allowed me to always be curious. From a young child I was always interested in different cultures. I make sure to take time to look at everyone’s perspectives and check my own judgements. I am constantly learning about different cultures to make sure others feel comfortable and welcomed when they come see me for therapy.
I know it can be scary to reach out when many things seem unclear. However, I can shed light on what you are going through. Common approaches can help someone cope on a moment-to-moment basis. Meanwhile, layers of your experience can still necessitate insight and healing. A good relational space allows open dialogue and collaboration over your life situation, bringing about positive change, insight into your needs, decisions or ambivalences. I have had a career of helping many people in tough moments while providing a safe and empathic environment. I enjoy and commit to making a difference for people dealing with trauma, depression and anxiety. Moreso, my clients often feel they have someone in kinship to their journey. This provides a renewed sense of comfort, wholeness and understanding to their lives.
