I aim to help guide my clients to where they want to be in their life. This means creating a nonjudgemental space that can be used however it is most helpful to each individual, whether it be learning new coping skills or having a safe space to discuss difficult topics. My intention is to support and help guide my clients in exploring their issues, needs, and goals. I have fortified my knowledge with extensive coursework in diversity, inclusion, social justice advocacy, and awareness. My belief is in fostering a supportive and empathetic counseling environment where my clients are not only heard but also understood. I also enjoy incorporating artistic expression into my counseling approach. I strive to understand each and every one of my client's unique identities and specific needs. I understand how difficult and daunting it can be to take the first step in reaching out for help and I will honor the pace at which you may need. I am dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for my clients.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and a licensed school psychologist. I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. Urban and rural, inpatient and outpatient work settings have taught me about the many challenges an individual may face including experiences of oppression and injustice, as well as a deep appreciation for the richness of the human experience. My style is described as warm, analytical and collaborative, balancing deep emotional work with elements of humor and lightness when appropriate. I aim to help clients address the root of complex challenges, in a safe and supported way. I most enjoy working with anxious kids and families, neurodivergent humans, queer clients, and folks working with depression, trauma, attachment, and identity including DID. I use insight-oriented, mindfulness-based, and systemic approaches including family therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, and emotion-focused work. I seek to help clients understand patterns that may not be serving them, and to hold a safe and empowering space in which positive shifts can occur. I am a student and teacher of yoga and meditation and I often weave these practices into my work with clients. I currently offer virtual therapy to clients in Oregon, New York, Colorado and Vermont.

We are experiencing challenging times. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are numerous and have created a long lasting crisis situation that is exacerbating depression, anxiety, feelings of fear and hopelessness, and triggering unhealthy regressive patterns and behaviors. It has placed stress on marriages, partnerships and families, and has left us feeling disconnected, frustrated and fearful. We are also experiencing a massive shift in our paradigm regarding race and ethnicity, which necessitates a different therapeutic consciousness that is more holistic, and that includes the issue of how racism and inequality affect mental health. As we navigate the “new normal,” it’s important to have a supportive space that can help define issues that are problematic so we can adjust accordingly to the harmful effects of the current crisis. In addition to treating mood disorders and trauma that affect daily functioning, as a relationship therapist, I believe the foundation of all relationships begins with the most important relationship of all – the one you have with yourself. Perhaps the life you have is different from the life you desire. If so, we will focus on core issues that might be preventing you from living that life. Some of the challenges you might be facing at this time include: Toxic/unhealthy dynamics in families of origin. A lack of strong role models. The search for a partner who more closely fulfills your needs. The decision of when/if to start a family. A career that means more than just a paycheck and allows you to live up to your full potential and desires. Unexpected health challenges. A nonconforming identity. We will not only address symptoms. We will examine the changes you want to make to live a more fulfilling life.

My philosophy in working with others is to work within a respectful and collaborative relationship, with a here-and-now orientation, that acknowledges your strengths and competencies. My belief is that you know yourself better than anyone and it is you who determines your therapy goals. I recognize that change is a process and occurs on a continuum or in stages. Where you are on this continuum will help guide our work supporting a very individualized treatment experience. I approach therapy with a sense of shared expertise - client and therapist each co-creating successful experience and outcome. In other words - you are not alone! I work within an integrated model of care which is strongly influenced and rooted in Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT), positive psychology, harm reduction, mindfulness meditation, self-compassion and acceptance-based approaches all of which are now considered mainstream approaches to psychotherapy. I am also greatly influenced by the evidence-based teachings of Lifestyle Medicine as they impact emotional well-being. I specialize in the treatment of relationship issues including infidelity; depression, anxiety and its spectrum disorders; grief and loss issues, including pet loss; lifestyle and its impact on health and wellness (nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep and social support), sexuality concerns (including but not limited to those impacting individuals who identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual, gay dads and coming out issues), as well as men dealing with compulsive sexual behavior, erectile dysfunction (ED), Internet pornography; and those living with chronic illness, HIV/AIDS related concerns, alcohol and substance use.

Students who find me most helpful are often trying to figure out who they are as separate but connected to their parents and family. I especially love working with first gen and immigrant students because I am both. I have lived and worked on four continents and English is actually not my first language, so students who are navigating intercultural issues also find it easy to connect with me. In terms of the kinds of issues students work with me on, it includes: depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship worries, fear of failure, and self esteem. I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm a clinical psychologist (PhD 1994, U Michigan) with 30 years experience meeting with adolescents, adults from 18-90, and couples. My doctoral research focused on loss and the impact of parental divorce. During my 25 years here I've met with many Cornell students, undergrads and grads. I make use of various approaches (psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive-behavioral), depending on what makes most sense. Family difficulties, romantic relationships, stress of all sorts, procrastination, and being 'stuck' completing academic work are common situations for which I've provided help.

Welcome to Westchester Parent and Child Therapy At Westchester Parent and Child Therapy, we recognize that each person enters therapy as a unique individual with their own upbringing and life experiences. However, none of us exist in a vacuum—we are all shaped by the relationships, families, and environments that surround us. Our past influences our present, and through therapy, we can explore these connections, gain insight, and create a path toward healing and growth. By understanding how our family of origin and broader systems impact us, we can break unhelpful patterns, foster meaningful change, and build a future that aligns with our values and emotional well-being. Our Team Our team includes licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed clinicians, and master's-level interns. Our licensed therapists, credentialed in NY, NJ, and CT, bring extensive experience across various therapeutic modalities. Provisionally licensed clinicians receive supervised training as they work toward their terminal licensure, and our master's level clinical interns provide fresh insights while working under close supervision. Our Services We offer therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups. Our individual therapy services help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Couples counseling focuses on strengthening communication and resolving conflicts, while family therapy supports improving relationships and fostering understanding. Group therapy offers a space to connect with others experiencing similar challenges. Our Approach & Specialties We integrate evidence-based modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-focused therapy. We specialize in addressing challenges unique to both men and women, such as societal pressures, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Additionally, we support individuals preparing for parenthood and navigating postpartum challenges. Flexible & Accessible Care We offer flexible scheduling, sliding scale fees, and provide a complimentary consultation to help you find the right fit. My specialty is ‘extreme stuckness’. My approach is intense, caring, tough, and free-flowing rather than structured. My therapy groups are full of challenging, brilliant, courageous people who seek depth and growth. All the therapists in our group practice are trained in a meta-approach called "Feedback Informed Treatment" which means that we track how things are going session-by-session to see if anything needs to change about our work together to help you get where you want to go.

I am a psychiatrist with experience helping college and graduate students navigate the ups and downs of campus life. In my previous work at Yale Mental Health and Counseling, I supported students dealing with academic stress, identity exploration, mood and anxiety concerns, and the pressure to achieve. In my practice now, I bring together medication management, therapy, and integrative wellness approaches such as mindfulness and somatic practices. My goal is to offer a supportive and collaborative space where you can feel understood, build resilience, and discover ways to feel more balanced and empowered both personally and academically.

An important part of successful therapy is feeling connected with your therapist. I'll first work with you on building that connection by listening and trying to understanding your feelings and experiences. We will also work collaboratively to understand patterns in your relationships and past experiences that help shape your current situation and behaviors. Coming to a better understanding of yourself, your feelings and behaviors is the first order of change. I also specialize in working with children, adolescents and families. With a Master's in School Psychology, I collaborate well with school professionals to support your child more comprehensively. I also provide parenting support to address challenging behaviors at home. I make sure the therapeutic process is collaborative. By helping you build upon strengths and understand challenges, you can start having a greater awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and incorporate healthier coping strategies and attain professional, academic, and interpersonal goals. To work on this together, contact me for a free phone consultation.
